Wilberforce, with the help of its volunteers, organise several fundraising events during the year, from an annual Christmas Fayre to the annual visit with bric a brac and refreshments to St Crux in the centre of York. The money raised from these fundraising events goes to support people with sight loss and other disabilities across York and the surrounding area.
Community Matters at Waitrose
Throughout February we are one of York Waitrose’s monthly community matters charities.
If you are not familiar with the scheme here’s how it works:
Make any purchase in Waitrose (it’s on Foss islands in York)
They give you a green token with your receipt
You place it in the box for Wilberforce Trust on your way out of the store
The more tokens we get, the higher the share of the pot of money they set aside each month for this scheme.
Please support us as it raises much needed money for the Trust and it will also raise our profile in the community.
Stall at York Hospital
26th April, 17th July, 12th October
London Marathon 2017
We have a place for the Marathon in April. Please sponsor our business manager who will be running the 26.2 mile course.
The Wilberforce Walk will take part on June 24th.
We have an ebay shop where we sell items that have been donated. All profits go back into The Wilberforce Trust.
If you would like to support the work the Trust does then you can also donate directly to us. You can make a single donation to the Wilberforce Trust, or regular donations, through LocalGiving.
The first time you use LocalGiving you must register. However, you have the option to donate anonymously should you wish to do so.
