As well as a number of Wilberforce Trust events in York in the next few weeks there are some great events happening across the city. These events are happening at various locations across the city and offer some interesting activities and experiences for people living with disabilities.

Thursday 15th November

Meet Guide Dogs in the Library – York University – Your chance to meet Guide Dogs with their volunteers. Ask any questions and find out more about what it i they do. While the event is free there is a suggested minimum donation of £2.00 per person to attend.

20th – 24th November

Sonic Bodies: A Multisensory Exploration at Leeds art gallery

Slightly further afield, but with funded travel options

Our assistive technology advisor at The Wilberforce Trust has been involved in an exciting technology artwork, Sonolope. This innovative project is aiming to offer a multisensory exploration of sculpture for both visually impaired and mainstream audiences. It is being presented at Leeds Art Gallery for the installation Sonic Bodies, a part of the Being Human Festival.

York Blind Swimming Day – Free swimming event for Visually Impaired Children at Energise Leisure Centre, Cornlands Road.
